AND THE BEER LASTED FOR EIGHT DAYS, PART 2: HE’BREW GENESIS ALE!

NOTES: Bottle @ McHops Monastery

STYLE: Brown Ale

ABV: 5.6%

APPEARANCE: Clear amber.

HEAD: Short, white, and fairly long-lived. It’s actually a very nice-looking beer.

LACING: Nothing special, just some spotty clumps here and there.

NOSE: Sweet, dark caramel malt and a not-insignificant dose of floral/herbal hops. Classic brown ale aroma. No complaints.

TASTE: Hops hit immediately with a touch of bitterness and herbal spice. That quickly fades away into a sweet, toasty, malt backbone. Finish is fairly long and sweet.

MOUTHFEEL: Smooth and silky. Good carbonation…medium body.

DRINKABILITY: It’s a true, blue session brew. A no-frills brown ale that you can drink year-round for any occasion. It won’t blow you away, but I don’t think you’d ever be upset to find a bottle in your fridge.

RATING: 3 Dreidels
