  1. I’m glad that they’re thinking no on the cork and cages. I happen to think that’s just a waste. I’m not much for aesthetics of bottles, and I don’t see a huge gap between that and ridiculous Rogue-style ceramic bottles.

  2. I also think that this seemingly new trend of “session-strength” bourbon barrel aged beer is very interesting. I’m all for it—the mere fact that something is barrel-aged shouldn’t mean that it’s extremely strong. Of course, this version of Barney Flats will be going up against some VERY highly regarded competition in Firestone Walker’s Velvet Merlin, which seems like it would be the closest comparison.
