  1. Solid post, Slouch. I really enjoy writers such as this who illustrate not just the beer, but also the culture behind it and why it matters in society. Pete Brown’s “Three Sheets to the Wind” is my favorite book on the topic as it did this perfectly. Looking forward to checking Evan’s essay out.

  2. I really think this is one of the best podcasts. Thank you, Evan, for lending us your expertise. I found the discussion on the nascent Czech craft beer market to be very intriguing. Seriously, this is my favorite guest ever. The story about the brewers finding the secret recipe book in a wall is the single greatest thing that we’ve had on this blog. I want to see that book. Evan! If you’re reading, tell me—did they show you the book?

The fact that my heritage is Czech makes this all the more interesting for me.

  3. Evan is the Indiana Jones of beer writers… I believe right now he is off looking for the mysterious brewing log, falling through wooden floors next to ancient coolships while careful to spill nary a drop of the world’s only Bohemian Pilsner that smells like strawberries.

I’m sure he will check in after he accomplishes his mission.
